Many UMT FKIP Students Miss Out on KKN Groups, LPPM Isssues Clarification

Tangerang - Dozens of students from the University of Muhammadiyah Tangerang (UMT), particularly from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), complained that they had not yet been assigned groups for the 2025 Community Service Program (KKN). The UMT Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) previously stated that they had prepared the appropriate number of groups for the 2022 student intake.

This complaint has been widely voiced by students on social media and campus forums since Monday evening. They expressed confusion and worry about being left behind in the upcoming KKN process.

"I registered early, but I haven't been assigned a group yet. Many of my friends are in the same situation," said Ardi, an English Language Education student from the 2022 intake.

In response to this situation, LPPM UMT immediately issued an official clarification via their Instagram account on Tuesday morning. In the post, the LPPM acknowledged that the number of KKN applicants this time exceeded initial expectations, resulting in insufficient group quotas.

"Beyond previous expectations, registration data continues to grow. And all group quotas are full, guys... For those who haven't been assigned a group, please be patient. We will reopen on July 11th after the 2025 KKN student briefing," LPPM wrote in their Instagram post.

LPPM also asked students who haven't registered for a group to not panic and to wait for further announcements after the briefing phase is complete.

This situation has drawn mixed reactions from students. Some lamented the poorly organized registration system, while others hoped that LPPM would quickly add groups or open registration for a follow-up wave.
