Thief caught on CCTV, Workshop Theft Shocks Kober Residents

Kober, Tangerang - A theft at a workshop owned by a resident in Kober, Tangerang City, nearly led to a mob attack after the perpetrator was caught red-handed by the owner's family early Tuesday morning at around 2:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time.

Mr. Samin's workshop, located on Jalan Pengayoman Utara I, had been burglarized three times in the past few weeks. However, this was the third time the perpetrator was caught, as it was clearly captured on CCTV.

According to the family, the perpetrator was discovered when the workshop owner's son was monitoring the CCTV footage around 2:00 a.m. Upon seeing suspicious activity, he immediately woke up family members and local residents.

"The perpetrator tried to enter the workshop again, even though he had already entered twice before and left traces. But this was the first time his face and actions were clearly captured," said the victim's son.

Residents who arrived immediately surrounded the perpetrator and nearly lynched him. The situation became heated and caused an uproar among the surrounding residents. Fortunately, the local neighborhood association (RT) head quickly arrived and managed to calm the crowd.

"The RT head immediately intervened and took control of the situation. The perpetrator was then handed over to the police for legal action," added another resident who witnessed the incident.

The perpetrator is currently being held at the Tangerang Police Station for further investigation. The family hopes this incident will be the last and has requested increased security in the neighborhood.
